Joseph Gordon-Levitt Joins the Dark Knight. Why Not Add DiCaprio?
By: Schnyger

It seems in time the entire cast of Inception might be a part of Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy. Is that something to complain about? Not at all. The cast of Inception was amazing, Nolan's Batman movies are amazing. Clearly anyone with any math skills knows that a positive plus a positive equals a positive (except in the case of The Tourist apparently). Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, and Michael Caine have already been apart of the films and they were all great. Its already been announced that Tom Hardy would be in the next film and now it seems Joseph Gordon-Levitt is joining the cast as well.
I don't know about everyone else out there, but I've thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt was awesome since 10 Things I Hate about You (do I lose man points for saying that?). In the past few years he has transformed into a quickly rising star with an obvious amount of talent. He's done action, romantic comedies, dramas and lets be honest, even if you hated GI Joe, his Cobra Commander was surprisingly great. I have no doubt he will be great in The Dark Knight Rising. The only question that remains is who he will play.
I'm sure that will be announced soon enough (though Nolan does enjoy secrets), but for now, we can always speculate. Lets start with what he won't be. He won't be Robin, Nightwing, or anything in the sidekick category. Nolan has been pretty clear about this. He also will not be the Riddler nor will he be a substitute Joker. This has been confirmed as well. What's left? I wouldn't mind seeing him as a villain again. Which villain? The thing with Batman is there are so very many. Personally, I could see him playing Black Mask. The character would be a good fit for this universe of films and he would fill the gangster role that seems to be open for the next movie.
In the mean time, I'm waiting to hear the announcement of Ellen Page or Leonardo DiCaprio. Maybe Tom Berenger will join the cast. Maybe Lucius Fox will develop a gadget for Batman that will allow him to invade villains dreams. Maybe I should end this post. Stay tuned for any and all future Bat news. Same bat time, same bat...website.
PS. I don't really expect to see Leo DiCaps pop up in the cast list, but we could all hope. It would be funny considering he was one person away from being cast as Robin in the 90s.
